CoCasa

Project Details

CoCasa connects buyers, sellers, and owners, interested in shared ownership.

The platform features different access permissions to the different types of users, and allows for their real-time collaboration on the platform, without any need to use third-party services for internal communication.

Mood Board

In order to establish the visual direction of a project, after the initial research I started working on the mood board. It helps tremendously in setting the tone for the entire project.

There were two possible design directions defined. Stakeholders have selected TRUST as the mood board reflecting the look and feel they would like to promote.
Further, this mood board acted as a reference point for the design&development team as well as the stakeholders throughout the process, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goal.

Color Palette

The next step after agreeing on the mood board, was the Style Guide.

I started with defining the color palette- primary, secondary, and neutral colors, as well as utility colors- warning, error, success, information. These utility colors are meant to be used to navigate users through a product, giving them feedback- whether the entry was correct, if there is a piece of information missing, etc.

Deliverables

To strike a balance between budget and outcomes, the list of deliverables included:

- Reviewing the UX/UI design of client-provided wireframes, along with recommendations
- Creating a style guide
- Developing missing wireframes
- Designing mid-fidelity wireframes for dashboards tailored to two user types: buyers and renters
- Creating high-fidelity wireframes with applied style guidelines for specific pages
- Providing assets
- Mapping out user flows

Timeline: Approximately one month.

Style Guide

The purpose of putting together the Style Guide is establishing the visual and design language that will guide the overall look and feel of the final product. Apart of the Color scheme, this includes defining typography, layout, iconography, and other visual elements that will be used throughout the project.

For CoCasa project, creating a Style Guide was particularly crucial, as it would serve as the primary reference point for the development team when applying UI to the mid-fidelity wireframes.

The Style Guide would ensure consistency in design elements, such as color, typography, navigation, and layout, across all screens and interactions. By establishing a clear and cohesive visual language, the Style Guide would help to streamline the development process, reducing the time and effort needed to iterate on design decisions.

Additionally, the Style Guide would help to maintain a strong brand identity and create a positive user experience by ensuring that the product looks and feels cohesive and intuitive.

Style Guide was one of the main deliverables at this stage- CoCasa was a self-funded project, led by a team of developers. And it was important for them to be able to/edit the wireframes without needing to involve the UI designer to do this.
